Stephen has been a member of the New London Synagogue since the early 80s in various roles including children’s services, security, council, shammas and even a spell (or should that be a curse) as chair. He was raised in Edgware in a United Synagogue family and in the JYVS youth movement. He recently retired from a career in commercial management in the music industry which began in Paris in the year the UK joined the Common Market and ended just as it departed. He was a school governor at a local primary school in Queen’s Park which his three daughters attended (and where he stayed for at least a decade after they had left). Stephen can often be found wobbling on his bike or dabbling in genealogy.
