As Co-Chairs of Masorti Judaism, we are immensely proud of what has been achieved by all our communities in this most challenging of years. We have had to embrace so many new and different ways of working and communicating but rather than being defeatist, our communities have risen to the challenge.
Much of this determination has been supported by Masorti Judaism and enriched by the enhanced networking opportunities such as the Community Chairs’ Forum and the Jewish Community Organising training. This has enabled us to share creative ideas on how to continue to provide for our members and maintain a sense of community, whilst ensuring everyone is kept safe. Without this mutual support, the last year would not have been so positive, nor would our communities have been able to reach out to and care for their members as effectively.
We have also been extremely impressed at how our young people have responded to the challenges they faced. The Noam team were enormously flexible and resourceful, as rules and regulations shifted throughout the year. They were one of the only movements to run in-person summer camp, with over 300 children getting their much-needed Noam-fix.
The journey has been bumpy and at times difficult, but oh so rewarding in many other ways. It has been a pleasure to see so many faces from across all the Masorti communities at the various learning and training events organised by Masorti Judaism. The Masorti community has grown more supportive and interconnected throughout the past year and we will endeavour to make sure this growth is nurtured and maintained. We look forward to continuing to work with all of you.
Wishing you a Chag Pesach Sameach.
