Simon grew up in Edgware and is a member of St Albans Masorti. He was a member of the Masorti Judaism Executive Committee and Board prior to the change in governance and served as Co-Chair of Masorti Judaism between 2017-2020. Simon retired from a career in Investment Banking in 2014, and since then has worked for banking regulators, think tanks and the Bank of England. He founded a consultancy business in 2017 and is a regular Op Ed contributor to the Financial Times. He is a keen cyclist and skier.
