Leeds Masorti Community
Leeds Masorti Synagogue is a multi-generational, egalitarian and inclusive community who come together to davven (pray), celebrate the Jewish holidays and learn. We meet for Friday night services and meals at members’ homes and for Shabbat morning services at the Marjorie and Arnold Ziff Community Centre. Our informal and participatory services follow the traditional Ashkenazi prayer book. We are fully egalitarian: we offer family seating and everyone is encouraged to join in, lead services and leyn (read) from the Torah.
We celebrate festivals with major events, such as our musical Chanukah and theatrical Purim parties, Tu b’Shvat Seder, ever popular Lag B’Omer bonfire and barbecue and an annual Tikkun Leyl Shavuot. Children’s services and activities are inclusive and fun.
