Bar and Bat Mitzvah

Bar and Bat Mitzvah is a meaningful opportunity for teenagers and their families to celebrate Jewish life and learning. Masorti synagogues offer both boys and girls the chance to mark this rite of passage by reading from the Torah, leading parts of the service and teaching the congregation. Many of our communities offer enjoyable educational and social programmes to prepare young people for this important transition.

If you are thinking about having a Masorti Bar or Bat Mitzvah, please speak to your synagogue office. They will be able to tell you about the courses you will be able to attend and what you will learn, and give you detailed information on the Bar/Bat Mitzvah ceremonies available in your synagogue. Thinking of having a kosher party? Check out our information on one day kosher food licenses. We hope you have a wonderful day that your family will remember forever.

For more information about bar/bat mitzvah please contact your local community or the Masorti Judaism office:
