Mamzerut is an ancient stigma in Judaism, handed down at birth and passed on through generations. Emma Rozenberg will examine what mamzerut is, the repercussions of being labelled a ‘mamzer’, and possible solutions, both traditional and modern. She will talk about her PhD research into mamzerut as a contemporary issue in the British Jewish community.
